Yesterday I had a youth group thing. Originally, we were supposed to go sledding, but because it had only started snowing at ten, and there was barely an inch on the ground, they decided to go bowling. I, of course, was the only one who did not know (or realize) this. So, I showed up in warm sweatpants and an old shirt in my bulky winter boots with a sled and my snowpants. Everyone stared and simply said, "We decided to go bowling." Talk about being under dressed and embarrassed! We bowled two games and then went to Double D's. We realized we had an hour left, so we head back to the church to play lightning in the gym. I surprisingly beat everyone (including Mr. Whitcomb and Mr. Marcus) a few five times. Amazing!
So tonight Mom dyed her hair a smooth brown, and I started wanting to do something with my hair. You guys know me and my hair adventures.....Mom said that she would try to give me red highlights tonight, and I said "yes" without even considering it. Right now, I am waiting for my twenty minutes are up to see how much damage....ah I mean beauty......was done to my hair! (just kidding Mom! you know I will love it!!)
This is the last week of the trimester for us! The school year is two thirds of the way done!! I had to write a short story for English, and I found this site that gives you a scenario, character names, titles, and everything! I used the character names, but the rest was my own idea. We will see how I do......I killed everyone off.
My time is up, so I am going to go wash my hair......wish me luck! I may need it.

ok, so this is for my nana......she asked me to update a while ago.
Much has changed in my life, and much has remained the same old same old. Let me see...
We got a new, red impala. I am very excited, because I am thinking that this is my car!!! (about a year!!) Well, at least I WAS excited, until mom drove it, with the back door still open, out the garage. The open door was crushed, and we had to tow it. I don't think we had even owned it for fifteen days yet.
School is simply wonderful! Every day is better and better. I think I am confident on almost everyone's names, and if not, I have simply learned to just not use their name in conversation. My classes are all really fun right now. We just did scheduling a week ago, and I signed up for advanced chem(junior class), advanced Algebra 2, and advanced English. I guess I will have a full schedule, because I also signed up for genetics (a junior class). I hope I can do it. My bio teacher, Mr. Boucher, also nominated me for Circle of Excellence. There is two more weeks, including exams, of this trimester. Then, it is last trimester of the year!!! Amazing how fast my freshman year is going!!
Two words to describe my latest excitement- D R I V E R 'S T R A I N I N G!!!!!! Today I went to see Denny Ackerson to get papers to sign up for driver's ed. YES!!!! Finally, the day I have waited fourteen years and nine months for. The only downside is that I have to pay for half of it. But, I am still counting on Mom and Dad supplying my first car.....lol
Alex's birthday is on the 28th. That is also the day of Winterfest. I cannot believe my dad actually let me go!! I already even have a dress.
Well I am going to go eat pizza and watch Igor with the fam. More posting later, Nana!

Terrible Tuesday

I figure that I am on quite a roll......two days in a row! Yay! I am mostly inspired to blog only when random or scary things happen in my life, and today was both.
As most of you know, I usually ride the bus in the mornings and afternoons. The past three school days I have not ridden the bus because of my crutches. Today was my first day without crutches! (hallelujah!!!!) On the down side, I had to ride the bus home this afternoon. Now don't take me wrong, I actually think that the bus is ok, not quite fun, but ok. I just don't like how late I get home when I ride. Today school was let out ten minutes early. No one is really sure why, just speculation about the back roads getting bad. No idea! Anyway, we were instructed to leave early, and get out to the buses fast because they were leaving immediately. I hobbled as fast as I could so I wouldn't miss it-my WORST nightmare. I got there on time, and the bus headed over to the middle school to pick up kids there. All was going great! We were super early, actually on time for once. We were sitting in the bus lane waiting for the five buses in front of us to turn onto the road. I was resting my head on the window, trying to get a few minutes of rest. Silly me. Since when is my life ever that normal? All of a sudden, "TABBBBIIIITHA!!!!" and a giant lurch backwards. I could feel a smack as our bus hit something solid behind us. I looked up to see our bus had slammed into a car behind us. The bus in front of us was still backing up until-WHAM! It hit us from the front. We had been in an accident. After a quick survey to make sure everyone was still alive and breathing, Jan our bus driver went outside to find out what had happened. Rumors flew around the bus of what had occurred. All I knew was that the car behind us was damaged badly in the front and the bus in front of us had hit us so hard I thought I had whiplash. As it turns out, Jan's scream of Tabitha was my bus driver's horror as Tabitha, the driver of the bus in front of us backed up suddenly. A bus had forgotten a kid, and they wanted to turn around and go back for the kid. Tabitha started to back up to give the other bus some room. Somehow in all this, Jan was never alerted. She had no idea. So, Jan rapidly put our bus into reverse and raced backwards into the car behind us. Tabitha, having no idea we had stopped, ran into us from the front. Messy business.
I am beginning to suspect that I have just the rottenest luck...............

Happy Monday!

Well, I figured it was time to update you again...... Here goes nothin'!
My foot is healing! FINALLY. Thanks to all of you who were praying for me! I sure need it. And just to dispel the rumor my mother seems to be telling, I was NOT hopping or jumping. I was not hopping like a bunny rabbit or playing guitar hero 2. I am planning on walking on it tomorrow for school. Key word is planning. (and yes, dad, I double checked to make sure that "planning" was actually in the sentence!) My saint of a teacher Mrs. Heinze is letting me sit out gym for longer than I am supposed to!
We are supposed to get an Arctic Blast sometime soon. All I can think is "S N O W D A Y!!!!" Someone brought up a very interesting point today in bio. If the weather is below zero, with the wind chill, we should not come to school. People could die of the cold. Of course, my teacher incredulously pointed out that the school did, surprisingly, have heat.....that could keep people warm...... Trivial fact.
Next Monday I have off because of President's Day. Did you know that it is on the third Monday of each February because George Washington, our very first President, was born on Feb. 22? That day is also a legal holiday. I googled it! :)
Well, in summary, I think I'll be able to keep my own foot; snow day is imminent; and think of Presidents on Monday. Goooood night America!

The Day I Almost Died!!!!!!!!

I know this is gross, but I just want to explain in a better way then my ramblings how dire the circumstance really was!!
It is strange how one minute you can be so carefree and focused on trivial things such as homework, and the next moment your world is crashing down around you. I woke up this morning, slightly tired, but perfectly healthy. First of all, I have to set the scene for you. About six pm, I was a little hyper having just eating a ton of syrup on my pancakes, and I was in the bathroom downstairs washing my hands. I had my three ring binder on the floor right behind me. I had been letting my hand soak in the warm water for a while, just taking my sweet time, never even imagining that it was the last few calm seconds I would have for hours. I looked up, in the mirror, stepped/hopped backwards and sideways to reach for the towel. My fingers had just felt the towel's softness when I felt a shooting pain in my right foot. I jumped up, grabbing my foot with my wet hands and yelling. Mom, Chase, and Gav were still at the kitchen table, eating. I rushed out, hopping on one foot, yelling "MY FOOT!! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH IT HURTS!! MY FOOT, MOM!!!!" over and over and over. I was frustrated and hurt and in shock. It was right in the arch of my foot-really tender. Mom looked at it, and got the look she normally gives Gavin. (He has had stitches at least seven times and staples once) It was a terrifying look, a determined-to-go-to-ER look. At that moment, I knew what she was going to do to me. I started to cry. She didn't understand. I just could not have stitches. Especially on such short notice. I tried to stammer that I was fine, and I didn't need to go to the ER. I don't know what gave that fact that I was in pain away-maybe it was the tears streaming down my face, or how I was clutching my foot so hard my knuckles were white. Either way, I could only buy myself an hour. At seven, Mom took one look at it, and she went to find the crutches. I sobbed the whole way to the hospital, imagining the imminent horrors. Huge shots, three feet long, and sharp sewing needles just ready to puncture my tender wound. I hobbled into the lobby, gave the receptionist my name and injury, and fell into the wheelchair she provided. I waited for about one minute, and then the lady was there to wheel me to the triage. After that, I was pushed to a room that smelled like gauze and assigned a bed. I lay back on the pillow; I could feel my pulse racing in nervous terror. My doctor was nice, or so I thought, but then she announced the dreaded proclamation-s t i t c h e s. I asked and pleaded and begged her to do anything but, yet she held firm. I guess the foot is the worst place to cut yourself, let along puncture. I did only what I knew how to do to save my life, I stalled. I asked for a topical that takes about thirty minutes to kick in. Anything to lessen the pain! It was the shortest thirty minutes in my life. The doctor asked me to flip onto my stomach, lucky for me because then I would not have to come up for some reason for not watching. As I lay there, waiting for the pain, I thought of all the words of encouragement I had gotten from my five year old brother as we walked out the door, "Don't worry sissy, it doesn't hurt. It feels just like a bee sting, only less. You can do it!" I thought to myself, if he can do it seven times, I can do it! In fact, I was feeling a lot better and almost pretty good. Until the first shot. Mom told me later that my foot started to twitch. I don't remember. Good thing there was an extra nurse in there holding my leg. I felt about four shots, and then nothing. I could feel random tugs of the thread and Mom saying,"Oh my word! I see her tendon!" Actually, it was all the way down to my tendon.......yuck! And Mom was taking pictures, and the doctor was posing.......I was worried that while they had their fun, the numbness would wear off. Finally, I was done. Only three stitches, and I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief. Then, the words, "This won't hurt a bit! Don't squeeze your muscle!" I looked at my arm to see a gigantic need sticking out. A Tetanus shot!!!! Come on, a three ring binder? Honestly? I secretly think they just wanted to terrorize me more.........

Well now you have heard about my trauma. I think I am going to live. I don't know. I hear the nights are always the worst.

Good night all! I hope~sob~to post again!

Happy New Year!

2009! I cannot believe it! It seems as if 2008 just flew by! As part of my "New Year Resolutions" I resolved to write faithfully at least three times a week. I blame the lack of posts in the last month or so on our computer crashing a while back. For a couple days we had no computer, and our whole family felt as if we were cut off from civilization. Dad told us that his office would buy us another one; if we would just wait. Dad is an accountant, and it's tax season. If we had waited for his office to buy another computer, I am sure we would still not have a computer. So, Mom went out and bought a brand new hard drive. It is supposed to be a bigger and better computer that should not crash; we'll see......... But my Mom and I still are upset about the loss of our old hard drive because we lost our whole music library and all our pictures. Stuff we can never get back.

So much has happened since my last post! We had those days where it never stopped snowing. I think we had about a foot and a half at some point.

My Mom, Alex, and I went to see Bedtime Stories on Tuesday. Word to the wise: rent the movie, don't see it in the theaters. It was a cute movie, but not cute enough to spend money at the theater. My Mom and Dad saw Seven Pounds also. They said it is really good. Maybe I will get to see it when it comes out!

And speaking of movies........Elf! We got it this year as a Christmas present. So cute. We also got TMNT, Ice Age 1&2, and What a Girl Wants. Alex got a PlayStation 2 and guitar hero stuff. At first I was a little skeptical about the guitar hero, but after I played it a few times (and poned everyone!), I realized it was pretty fun. He got a game for guitar hero of 80s songs. Alex and I got a little creeped out when Mom and Dad started to sing along with them.........

My Dad got a family membership to a gym for my Mom for Christmas. The first time we went, Mom and I immediately moved toward the elliptical machine. Just imagine our horror as we looked down at the control pad-all the foreign signs and buttons. The hardest part to figure out was how to turn it on! I bet we stood there for five minutes, trying in vain to get lucky and start the thing. Finally Mom went to get help, and I stood there, mortified. I am sure all the other people in the gym were snickering, laughing at the newbies. I guess there is open swim on certain days, and the boys are definitely psyched about that.

For Christmas, our whole family got a Belgian waffle maker from my Nana and Papa. We have had waffles like three times this week. Yummmm!

Ok well Happy New Year! I hope everyone accomplishes their resolutions, including me!

I think I have deprived all of you of the wonderful tales of my life for long enough! There is so much to tell, I just hope I remember it all!
I survived exams. Unfortunately, that was also the week that I had the head cold that has been going around. I am sure no one appreciated my constant sniffling during our two hundred forty question history exam! Along with passing all my classes, I got new ones! First trimester of biology and English! Also, I have gym again this trimester-and guess what! We are going bowling Mondays and Tuesdays! I have styles this tri too. We are sewing an apron, pillow, and pajama pants. That should be fun.
Happy late Thanksgiving! My family and I went to my Mom's parents on Saturday of last week. It would have been a nice ride if it weren't for the fact that Gavin rode his pretend motorcycle the WHOLE WAY THERE. Yes, all I heard was "VRRROOOOOOMMMM, SCREECH! VRRROOOOMM. BEEEP BEEEP" the whole ride. On Thursday, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Grandma always has the works for Thanksgiving dinner-turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, homemade rolls, buttercup squash, and our own individual pumpkin pies! Well, my brothers and I get our own mini individual pies, but not the adults. My dad and uncle still grumble about that fact even though she has been doing it for years. We stayed for two days, playing Yahtzee and cribbage and doing 1000 piece puzzles for hours.
I think everyone was out shopping on Black Friday. EVERYONE. My mom, Alex, and I all went shopping at five am. We went to Walmart, Kohl's, the mall, Target, and McDonald's. Even McDonald's was crowded! I have almost all of my Christmas shopping done though! Except for Alex......
Today we woke up bright and early (at ten) to go get our Christmas tree. For as long as I can remember, we have always gotten a real blue spruce. This year we got a fir tree! I still am in shock about that.....But anyway, we are decorating the house for Mom's first ever annual open house on Tuesday.
On Wednesday I have my sports banquet. I have only gone to my old school's banquet where skirts were required. Here, I had no idea what to wear! So, my mom helped pick out a shirt for me at Kohl's. Hope it works. And wish me good luck!
